Common Dental Emergencies and Tips:

Knocked Out Tooth: Keep the tooth moist at all times. Hold it by the crown, rinse gently if needed, and try to reinsert it into the socket. If reinsertion isn't possible, place the tooth in a glass of milk to preserve it.

Cracked Tooth: Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling.

Jaw Injury: If you suspect a broken jaw, apply a cold compress and seek immediate treatment at our office or an emergency room.

Lip or Tongue Bite with Excessive Bleeding: Clean the area and apply a cold compress. If bleeding persists, go to the emergency room.

Loose Tooth: Take an over-the-counter pain reliever and apply a cold compress. Avoid eating or drinking anything that could dislodge the tooth.

Lost Filling or Crown: Place the filling or crown in a safe place and avoid hot or cold liquids. Contact us to make an appointment.

Painful Swelling Not Caused by Injury: This could be an abscess. Rinse with warm saltwater and set up an emergency appointment as soon as possible.

Sudden Toothache: Rinse with warm water and floss around the aching tooth to remove any particles that may be causing pain.
